We're your meal planner! Tonight's main course: Fajitas!

The term “fajita” literally means “little sash,” the diminutive of the Spanish word faja, meaning “belt, strip, or band”. The meat in fajitas usually mingles with grilled or sautéed peppers and onions, which are cut into similarly sized strips. Serve á la carte or wrapped in your favorite tortillas.

Clear Creek Organic Farms has been in the Bernt family for over 125 years. The name comes from the small Clear Creek that flows onto their farm and joins in marriage with the Cedar River. To the north are the Sandhills rolling and covered with grass and wild flowers, to the south are the rich clay soils, fertile for crops.

Save 25% off on assorted flavors of Clear Creek Cheese! Ends Tuesday!

August Board Reflection

It’s pretty exciting to be sitting here on the eve of the reset tomorrow night. Sounds like the deli counter is down for a few days. I cannot wait to see what this looks like on Wednesday. We’re moving all the registers and losing the customer desk – creating a new seating area.

Numbers look good at the store. Amy Gerdes, a long-time friend of Open Harvest has been hired as the new Lead Produce Clerk!

We are making plans for annual meeting. I am trying to push the party angle more because it’s agreed there is not a lot to talk about business-wise this year.

Thursday, August 22nd, join us at the co-op for a $4 meal  This is one of the first $4 meal nights. These are popular at co-ops everywhere. My questions are can we get a band? A few kegs?

Another great meeting put together by our fearless leaders, Amy and Megan.
