Comté vs. Irish Coolea

Coolea is a cow's milk cheese produced on the farm of Dick and Sinead Willems in Coolea Co. Cork. Made since 1979, this Gouda style cheese has a yellow / orange wax with firm, closed texture and smooth pate. As the cheese matures, the pate becomes drier and finally the protein crystals are visible at 18 months of maturity.

Join us in-store on select dates (below) for an opportunity to sample and vote for the winner!

SWEET 16: March 2 & 3 – 2 pairings each day
SWEET 16: March 9 & 10 – 2 pairings each day
ELITE EIGHT: March 14 – 17 – 1 pairing per day
FINAL FOUR: March 23 – 24th – 1 pairing per day
CHAMPIONSHIP: March 30th & 31st – both days sampling finalists

Bracket Submissions Completed March 1st.


1st Place: 1lb. of each final four cheese + 2 tickets to Beer+Cheese event
