Our Philosophy
At Open Harvest Co-op we strive to promote the health and sustainability of our community with small donations throughout the year.
Community Donation Guidelines
We offer $10 to $50 gift certificates for use at silent auctions, fundraisers, or other one-time events.
Our donation preferences are given to local non-profits, sustainable agriculture and environmental programs. Our donation program does not support partisan or religious organizations. Recipient organizations are eligible a maximum of twice per year.
SEED Program
The SEED program is a simple yet powerful community giving opportunity that allows customers to āround-upā their grocery bill for recipient organizations that share our commitment to a healthy community. Click here to learn more.
Cooperative Community Fund
In 2007, our co-op started the Open Harvest Cooperative Community Fund (OHCCF) to aid in developing new co-ops throughout the nation and to further give back to local nonprofits. The endowment is funded through contributions from Open Harvest, matches by other co-ops, and donations from shippers through our SEED program.Ā Click here to learn more

Neighbors In Need
The Neighbors in Need Initiative is an in-store initiative designed to support individuals and families facing financial challenges in 2025. This program is a community-funded gift card system that operates on a pay-it-forward principle. The initiative creates a communal fund available to anyone in the community experiencing financial hardship and needing assistance with essential groceries.
How the Program Works:
- Community Funded: Shoppers can contribute to the “Neighbors in Need” gift card fund at any time while checking out.
- Availability: The communal gift card is available for use by anyone experiencing financial hardship, and needing assistance with their grocery bill.
- Access: A usage limit has been put in place to ensure the funds are distributed equitably and can serve the maximum number of people.
This program underscores Open Harvest’s commitment to food security and support for community. We encourage all who are able to contribute to the fund, and we invite those facing difficulties to utilize this resource without hesitation.
